PBPT FAQs
-
PBPT is a form of physiotherapy that focuses on guided movement and exercise to help with common aches, pains, and mobility issues. It’s not personal training — the goal is recovery and functional improvement, not fitness performance. It helps you build strength, flexibility, and confidence while reducing discomfort and preventing future injuries.
-
It’s ideal for minor aches, stiffness, recurring pain, or movement limitations — like back pain, shoulder tightness, old sports injuries, or mobility concerns. It also supports early-stage recovery and prevention for people looking to stay active and healthy.
-
You’ll start with a licensed Physiotherapist who creates your personalized plan and oversees your progress. Your ongoing sessions are guided by our on-site team, who act as Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs) under the physiotherapist’s direction — helping you perform your exercises correctly and safely.
-
The assessment is a one-on-one video session with a physiotherapist. They’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and goals, and may ask you to perform a few simple movements to evaluate strength and mobility. From there, they’ll create a tailored Active Physio Rehab plan for you. What equipment or space will I need for the virtual assessment?
-
You’ll just need a quiet, well-lit space and a device with a camera. Comfortable clothing is best. If you have resistance bands, small weights, or a yoga mat — great! But they’re not required.
-
Follow-up sessions are done on-site at our studio, where our team will guide you through your personalized treatment plan. Your physiotherapist will remain involved to oversee your progress and update your program as needed.
-
That depends on your plan. Most clients complete regular Active Rehab sessions with our team, and the physiotherapist checks in every 4–8 weeks to assess progress and make any updates.
-
Yes — your treatment plan is fully personalized to your condition, goals, and comfort level. Every program is unique to the individual.
-
Your physiotherapist monitors progress through check-ins and updates from our team. If something isn’t working, the plan is adjusted — ensuring it evolves with your recovery and goals.
-
Most clients start noticing improvement during their treatment plan, but results vary by person and condition. Your physiotherapist will set realistic expectations and timelines during your first session.
-
Pricing depends on your individualized plan and number of sessions. You’ll receive a clear breakdown during your initial assessment before committing to anything.
-
Most clients can use their physiotherapy benefits for Active Physio Rehab. After each session, you’ll receive a receipt to submit directly to your insurance provider. If your location is new and your provider doesn’t yet recognize it, you can select “provider not found” in your submission portal or contact your insurer to have the location added — this may take a few days but ensures smooth processing going forward.

All physiotherapists are licensed professionals registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Our team members who guide your sessions act as Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs) under direct supervision — ensuring every part of your program follows your physiotherapist’s recommendations safely and effectively.
